Hi Brooke and Amanda, I am working on That's Quite a Schlep in the USA Today 7/12/21 and the LGBTQ references are a bit of overkill in this puzzle. Please consider a balance between presenting gay and straight clues (who to ask when pop says no? dad. Who to ask when mama says no? mom. keeps me warm by May Lambert? she. lesbians who tech.? org. etc). I respect LGBTQ, but does it have to be the lessons of a puzzle called Quite a Schlep-or is that a gay reference that I just haven't figured out yet? Society is good with diversity. A little balance please.
This was an awesome grid and a joy to solve. Thank you!

Look, even Colin Robinson would tell you you're going overboard with the trolling.

The LGBTQ content in your puzzles makes this elderly butch lesbian very happy. I like being seen. Keep it up!
